A guide for the conversation

Your hearing aid options

Tier names describe positions within a manufacturer's range. They are not a universal measure of benefit. Fitting, verification and follow-up remain central.

What to compare

Questions to ask at any tier
AreaA useful question
Speech and noiseAsk which directional and noise-management features are included, and trial them in the client's priority environments.
Automatic adjustmentsCheck which sound scenes can be recognised and which adjustments the clinician can change.
Programs and fine tuningCount the actual programs and adjustment controls in the chosen family. More expensive does not always mean more programs.
ConnectivityCheck the exact hearing aid variant, phone model, firmware and accessories. A tier label alone does not establish compatibility.
ValueCompare a lower tier under the same conditions. Record the benefit the client notices, not just the manufacturer's feature list.
